Used Construction Machinery

Japan is one of the largest sources of sound used construction machinery, and the reason is maintenance culture rather than age. Machines here are serviced on schedule, run on clean fuel, and are usually retired while still working well, because contractors replace on a cycle rather than on failure.

What we handle

Buying at the Japanese machinery auctions and from direct sellers, inspection, optional servicing before shipment, de-registration paperwork, export certification, and booking the vessel. We ship RoRo, on flat rack, or break a machine down into a container where that works out cheaper.

Two ways to buy

• As-is. Straight from auction with the inspection sheet translated. Lowest price, and the machine comes as it stands. This suits buyers who have their own workshop.
• Serviced before shipment. Fluids, filters, undercarriage, hydraulic hoses and whatever the inspection flags, all done before the machine leaves Japan. Costs more, arrives ready to work.

Practical notes

• Hours matter more than year. A 2014 machine with 4,000 hours is usually a better buy than a 2018 with 12,000. We quote both and let you compare.
• Emissions tier. Later Japanese machines run Tier 4 engines that need low-sulphur diesel and will suffer where fuel quality is inconsistent. In those markets an earlier Tier 3 machine is the safer purchase, and we will say so rather than sell you the newer one.
• Destination rules. Some countries require pre-shipment inspection or set an age limit on imported machinery. We confirm the current position before you commit.
