Cutting and setting happen overseas, where the skill is concentrated and the labour cost makes small-batch work viable. Finished pieces go wherever they are wanted, which in practice means Japan for a large part of the volume and third countries for the rest. Nothing has to route through Japan to reach you.

What we handle

Working with cutters and setting workshops, specifying the stones and the metal, sampling before a production run, independent certification where the value warrants it, customs clearance and delivery. For buyers building their own line we arrange private label and packaging.

Practical notes

• Treatment disclosure is the whole trust question. Most coloured stones on the market are treated in some way, and heat treatment is normal and accepted. What is not acceptable is silence. We state the treatment for every stone, in writing, whether or not the buyer asks.
• Certification pays for itself above a threshold. Below it, a report costs more than it adds. We will tell you where that line sits for the stones you are buying rather than certifying everything.
• Metal standards differ by market. Japanese buyers expect specific karat marks and Japanese hallmarking conventions. A piece made to a European standard may need remarking before it can be sold here.
• Repeatability. Coloured stones vary. A line you intend to reorder needs a tolerance agreed on colour and size at the sample stage, or the second batch will not match the first.
