Raw Hides & Semi-Finished Leather

We supply material, not finished articles. That means hides and skins at the stage that suits your operation: salted raw for tanneries with their own beamhouse, wet blue where you want to control retanning and colour, or crust where you only need finishing.

Where the value sits

Each step of processing adds cost and removes optionality. Buying wet blue is usually the balance point for a manufacturer without a full tannery: the heavy, dirty, water-intensive work is done, but the colour, hand and finish are still yours to decide. Crust costs more and locks in more.

What we handle

Sourcing from tanneries and hide merchants in North Africa and the Mediterranean, grading against your defect tolerance, pre-shipment inspection, the veterinary and origin documentation that animal materials require, and delivery to Japan or onward to a third country.

Practical notes

• Grading is the whole negotiation. Selection 1 through 5 describes defect count. Insect damage, brand marks and healed scars decide the yield you actually get, so we agree a written tolerance before purchase rather than after arrival.
• Documentation. Hides are an animal product. Import requires veterinary certification and quarantine clearance, and the requirements differ by species and origin. We handle the paperwork as part of the shipment.
• Moisture and weight. Salted raw hides are priced by weight, and weight includes water and salt. We specify the basis in the contract so there is no argument on arrival.
• Consistency over a year. Hide quality moves with season and herd. If you need a repeatable article, tell us the annual volume and we will hold a source rather than buy spot.
